Jarina Begum has to maintain her family by hard labor like stone crashing and her eight years daughter Saleha also accompanying her to do the adversity because of poverty .Mother with her eight years old daughter is doing this job to maintain a four member’s family.Jarina gave birth of three children and now struggling to survive , like Jarina thousand of people who are homeless ,deprived from basic needs of life like food , shelter, education,medication and clothes.
Bring happiness In Ramadan is a long term project of Youth Club Of Bangladesh. Youth Club Of Bangladesh has taken a initiative to provide iftar , donating clothes & the Holy Quran in month of Ramadan among the deprived people specially poor children. Our goal is to make them happy and provide nutrious food at least for one day. In this continuation we successfully host three programs in last 2 years. Youth Club of Bangladesh appointed youth ambassadors for upcoming grand conference on Thalassaemia: Treatment & Beyond. More than 30 students from different university were appointed as ambassadors through an orientation program which had been held on 21th May,2015 at Bangladesh Thalassaemia Samity & Hospital premises.
Thalassaemia is the name of a group of genetic inherited disorders of the blood. More specifically, it is a disorder of the hemoglobin molecule inside the red blood cells. It is an inherited genetic disease, i.e. a disease that is passed from parents to children through the genes.
It is not infectious and cannot be passed on from one individual to another by personal or any other contact, through blood transfusion, food or air.
In Bangladesh no definite data regarding the carrier status of hereditary haemoglobin disorders exist. A Conservative World Health Report estimates that 10-12 % people are carrier of Thalassaemia. As there is 4% are Carrier of Beta- Thalassaemia & 6% are carrier of Haemoglobin- E Trait. Therefore more than 15 million are Thalassaemia Carrier. Concern is increasing that thalassaemia may become a very serious problem in the next 50 years.
Bangladesh Thalassaemia Samity in association with Youth Club of Bangladesh are going to organize a conferance on Thalassaemia.
